Terms of Service

1. Booking & payment

• Deposits. For most sessions, a deposit reserves your date. When you book online, your card is authorized but not charged until your booking is accepted. If we decline or don't accept within the authorization window, you are never charged.
• Balance. Any remaining balance is due before your session unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
• Invoices. Business and real estate clients may be invoiced; invoices are due within 14 days unless otherwise stated.
• Travel. Locations outside of Richmond include a $75 travel fee.

2. Rescheduling & cancellation

• Weather. Outdoor sessions threatened by weather are rescheduled at no charge. We monitor the forecast and reach out proactively.
• Your reschedule. Give us at least 48 hours' notice and we'll move your session to the next available date, deposit intact.
• Cancellation. Deposits are generally non-refundable once a booking is accepted, since your date was held and other work turned away. If we must cancel for any reason other than weather, you receive a full refund including the deposit.
• No-shows. If you don't appear within 30 minutes of the scheduled start without contact, the session is treated as cancelled and the deposit is retained.

3. Delivery

• Real estate photos are typically delivered within 24–48 hours; portrait-style sessions within 3–10 business days.
• Photos are delivered through a private online gallery protected by an access code, available for 90 days by default. Extensions are available on request.
• The number of delivered images depends on your package. We cull and edit the strongest frames — RAW/unedited files are not provided.

4. Copyright & usage

• Our copyright. The photographer retains copyright in all images, as is standard in professional photography.
• Your license. You receive a license to use your delivered images for personal and (where applicable to your package) professional purposes — printing, sharing, social media, listings, and marketing your own business. You may not resell the images themselves or claim authorship.
• Portfolio use. Per the release accepted at booking or gallery access, we may display session images in our portfolio and marketing. If you'd like an image removed from public display, email us and we will remove it.
• Commercial licensing beyond your package's scope is available by separate agreement.

5. Session conduct

• You're responsible for obtaining access/permission for private locations you choose.
• Anyone photographed who is a minor must have a parent or guardian's consent.
• We may end a session early without refund if conditions become unsafe or abusive; we'll always attempt to resolve issues first.

6. Limitation of liability

We take backups and equipment redundancy seriously. In the unlikely event images are lost or unusable due to equipment failure or circumstances beyond our control, liability is limited to a re-shoot at no charge or a refund of amounts paid for the affected session — whichever you prefer. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

7. General

• These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
• We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the current version. Sessions are governed by the terms in effect when booked.
